10 things we love about the US

possibly the most well-liked nation on Earth, and the "land of the free" and "home of the brave." Here are the 50 things we adore about the United States, listed in no particular order (that's one for each star on the American flag):

1. Sunday of the Super Bowl

American football's annual championship game is more than just a major athletic occasion. Halftime of the game transforms into one of the biggest and most watched concerts in the world, featuring past performers such as Beyoncé, Prince, Madonna, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, and Lady Gaga.

2. The banner

No one loves their country more than Americans do, and no one does it more voluntarily. The Stars and Stripes can be seen everywhere: on lawns, on car bumper stickers, on hats, on cupcakes, and yes, even on the moon. Interesting fact: five of the six flags that were placed on the moon still stand, in spite of having long since lost all of their color.

3. Kamala, AOC, and RBG

Three fierce female mentors. While Ruth Bader Ginsburg, also known as RBG, was a seasoned Supreme Court justice and a symbol of the feminist movement, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a freshman congresswoman from New York, is making waves (and headlines) in Washington. As of January 2021, Kamala Harris has been the Vice President of the United States and the first female vice president in the nation's history.

4. The doughnuts

Therefore, while not exactly an American invention, it is a staple of dessert menus all over the country. And thank you to whoever created and/or popularized these sugar-and/or cinnamon-and-chocolate-sauce-drenched deep-fried sticks of soft, warm dough. Okay, completely drowned.

5. Broadway

One of the greatest places in the world to see a stage show is still New York's famous theater row.

6. Hollywood, Los Angeles

Hollywood is responsible for fostering the talent, technology, and special effects that have propelled the film industry to its current heights of success. Visit Hollywood for some of the best stargazing, shopping, or a few green juices.

7. The variety of cultures

Since most Americans can trace their ancestry to Europe, Africa, Latin America, or Asia, and because most understand that they would not be the country they are today without that legacy, Americans celebrate and embrace diversity because it is ingrained in their DNA.

8. Disney

Since the release of its first feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, in 1937, Disney has delighted children and adults with a plethora of memorable films that have defined our childhoods and enormous theme parks located in Florida.

9. NASA

It's cool in space. It's awesome to be able to witness a rocket launch. And it's really, really cool to be able to look around NASA's launch facility in Florida, where astronauts train and top astrophysicists and aeronautical engineers work to make space exploration a reality.

10. The character

The United States of America is home to farms, mountain ranges, hills, plains, deserts, lakes, and streams. Even after a lifetime of exploration, one would still feel as though they have only touched the surface of the United States' natural wonders.
